Abraham Ortega nació en 1962 en Vilque Puno, Perú. Desde muy pequeño tuvo inquietudes artísticas, sobre todo hacia la artesanía en general, para luego decantarse en el tallado de la madera. Con 17 años compra su primera guitarra y se cruza en su camino un bailaor flamenco que estaba de gira en su tierra natal.
Tras quedarse impresionado con aquel artista, comienza a explorar todo lo relacionado con el mundo del flamenco. Aprende a tocar la guitarra y descubre que se le da muy bien bailar flamenco, y conserva la inquietud de la construcción de la guitarra, como obra de arte que produce arte.
Ingresa en la facultad de derecho, pero sin perder la fascinación por el flamenco. Consigue viajar a España en enero de 1985 y se pone en contacto con algunos de los bailarines flamencos más importantes de la época: Manolo Marín y José Mansilla, y se acerca al guitarrista Miguel Pérez para aprender a tocar.
Pero finalmente en 1987 consigue su gran sueño: conoce al constructor Alberto Pantoja y 2 años después al maestro Andrés Domínguez quien le invita, un día después de conocerlo, a instalarse en su taller de construcción de guitarras y convertirse en su único discípulo hasta el día de hoy.
A fecha de hoy mantiene una estrecha relación con el maestro Domínguez, de él ha adquirido toda la experiencia y sabiduría en el arte de construir la guitarra flamenca, así como la restauración de guitarras antiguas de alta calidad, y se ha convertido en uno de los más prestigiosos constructores de guitarra desde hace 3 décadas.
Tras el legado recibido, no abandona su creatividad y su inquietud por investigar la forma de mejorar la calidad de la guitarra y la madera que nos da la sabia naturaleza para construirla. Crea hermosas guitarras de arte con dedicación y pasión, conciliando el capricho de la marquetería y sus combinaciones.
Hoy como maestro, tiene como discípulo a su hijo Nefi Ángel Ortega Romero, quien ha heredado su virtud y destreza manual. Juntos con su arte, se dedican a complacer al profesional, al estudiante y al aficionado de la guitarra flamenca.

Abraham Ortega was born in 1962 in Vilque Puno, Peru. From a very young age he had artistic interests, especially towards craftsmanship in general, and then decided to carve wood. At the age of 17, he buys his first guitar and a flamenco dancer who was on tour in his native land crosses his path.
After being impressed with that artist, he begins to explore everything related to the world of flamenco. He learns to play the guitar and discovers that he is very good at dancing flamenco, and he keeps the restlessness of the construction of the guitar, as a work of art that produces art.
He enters the faculty of law, but without losing the fascination for flamenco. He travels to Spain in January 1985 and gets in touch with some of the most important flamenco dancers of the time: Manolo Marín and José Mansilla, and approaches the guitarist Miguel Pérez to learn to play.
But finally in 1987 he achieved his dream: he met the builder Alberto Pantoja and two years later the maestro Andrés Domínguez invited him, one day after meeting him, to settle in his guitar construction workshop and become his only disciple until the day from today.
To date he has a close relationship with maestro Domínguez, from him he has acquired all the experience and wisdom in the art of building the flamenco guitar, as well as the restoration of high quality antique guitars, and has become one of the most prestigious guitar builders since 3 decades ago.
After the legacy received, he does not abandon his creativity and his restlessness to investigate the way to improve the quality of the guitar and the wood that gives us the wise nature to build it. Create beautiful art guitars with dedication and passion, reconciling the whim of the marquetry and its combinations.
Today as a teacher, he has as his disciple his son Nephi Angel Ortega Romero, who has inherited his virtue and manual dexterity. Together with their art, they dedicate themselves to please the professional, the student and the amateur of the flamenco guitar.
